ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading a team within Global Accounting Operations (GAO) and overseeing the execution of accounting operations, financial close processes, balance sheet governance, and compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards. This role provides strategic leadership, technical accounting expertise, and operational oversight to support the Company's financial reporting objectives and business growth.
The Senior Manager partners closely with Corporate Accounting, Sites Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence, strengthen internal controls, and deliver high-quality financial results. The role is also responsible for developing talent, driving process improvements, and supporting transformation initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and scalability of the accounting function.
This role reports directly to Director, Accounting.
- Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Lead and oversee consolidation activities as part of the period-end close process, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, foreign currency translation, and consolidated financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, lease accounting, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet accounts through robust review and governance processes.
- Lead and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by internal and external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements and resolution of findings.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to SOX and internal control requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with Corporate Accounting, Sites Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify risks, resolve issues, and improve financial processes
- Identify accounting, operational, and compliance risks and proactively drive resolution of issues and escalations that may impact financial reporting integrity or close timelines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including performance management, career development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Lead initiatives for automation, standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
- Support finance transformation programs, ERP implementations, and system enhancement projects.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI adoption, digital tools, and analytics to improve operational performance.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant leadership responsibilities.
- Minimum 8 years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
PREFERRED :
- Experience working in multinational organizations and complex global environments.
- Strong experience in financial close, general accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience and demonstrated ability to leverage technology, automation, data analytics, and emerging AI solutions to transform accounting processes and improve operational effectiveness.
SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and accounting best practices.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements.
- Experience with systems such as Oracle, Workday, Workiva or equivalent platforms.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
