Job Summary

Drive and operate prime movers within PSA premises and island-wide, ensuring safe handling of containers and ISO tanks. Follow traffic controller instructions, maintain delivery documentation, and perform vehicle safety checks to support efficient terminal operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive prime movers safely within PSA premises, Jurong Island, and island-wide to transport containers and ISO tanks
• Couple trailers and load/unload containers and ISO tanks at terminals and plants
• Follow instructions from traffic controllers using walkie talkies, in-vehicle CMS devices, and telecommunication tools to coordinate movements
• Submit trip incentive forms to supervisors weekly to track completed trips
• Manage and control necessary delivery documents accurately for each trip
• Attend required safety courses including Hazmat, PSA, Plant SIC, defensive driving, and AWSHPP to maintain compliance and safety standards
• Perform safety checks before driving, including fastening twist locks securely after container lift-on/lift-off
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before starting work to ensure the prime mover is safe and operational
• Carry out any additional duties or tasks assigned by supervisors promptly and safely

Required competencies and certifications

• Possess a valid Class 4 or Class 5 driving license to operate prime movers
• Maintain zero driver demerit points to ensure safe driving record
• Have at least 3 years of experience driving prime mover heads to demonstrate competency and familiarity with the role

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Hold a current Hazmat License to handle hazardous materials safely (preferred but not essential)
• Demonstrate a strong safety orientation to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment
