Job Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the service team during daily restaurant operations.
• Ensure guests receive professional, attentive and efficient service at all times.
• Coordinate table assignments, reservations and seating arrangements to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Brief service staff before each shift on reservations, menu items, promotions and operational requirements.
• Assign duties and stations to waiters and service staff according to operational needs.
• Welcome guests, assist with menu recommendations and take orders when required.
• Maintain good knowledge of the restaurant's food and beverage menu, ingredients and preparation methods.
• Ensure orders are accurately entered into the POS system and communicated to the kitchen.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure dishes are served accurately and promptly.
• Monitor the quality and presentation of food before serving to guests.
• Handle guest enquiries, special requests and feedback professionally.
• Resolve minor customer complaints and escalate serious matters to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor when necessary.
• Train and guide new and existing service staff on service procedures, menu knowledge and customer service standards.
• Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, conduct and service performance.
• Ensure tables, dining areas and service stations are properly prepared and maintained throughout service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restaurant setup and end-of-shift duties.
• Assist with stock checks for beverages, tableware and other service supplies.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety and workplace safety requirements.
• Support the Restaurant Manager and Supervisor in maintaining service standards and achieving operational targets.
• Perform other duties related to restaurant operations as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in restaurant, hospitality or F&B service.
• Previous experience as a Senior Waiter, Captain or Head Waiter is preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of restaurant service procedures and dining etiquette.
• Able to lead, guide and coordinate service staff during busy periods.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with POS systems and order-taking procedures is preferred.
• Well-groomed with a professional and service-oriented attitude.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
