Job Purpose
To manage and oversee the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective cash flow management, statutory compliance and proper financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Set of Accounts
- Handle and maintain full set of accounts including AP, AR and GL.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments and month-end closing.
- Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately and timely recorded.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Review supplier invoices, payments and supporting documents.
- Monitor customer invoices, collections and outstanding balances.
- Prepare aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Ensure proper documentation for all payment and collection transactions.
3. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare cash flow and financial position reports.
- Provide variance analysis and financial information to Management.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting and cost monitoring.
4. Payroll & Staff-Related Finance
- Coordinate with HR on payroll-related accounting entries.
- Verify payroll journals, statutory payments and staff claims where required.
- Ensure payroll-related transactions are properly recorded.
5. Audit & Tax
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax agents.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Assist in annual audit and tax computation/submission.
- Ensure proper records are maintained for statutory and tax purposes.
6. Compliance
- Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor requirements relating to e-Invoicing, SST, tax and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper filing and audit-ready documentation.
7. Cash Flow & Banking
- Monitor daily/weekly cash position.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate banking transactions and payment schedules.
- Highlight potential cash flow issues to Management.
8. Supervision
- Supervise and review work performed by Accounts Executives/Junior Accounts staff.
- Check accounting entries and ensure accuracy before finalisation.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members.
9. Process Improvement
- Review existing accounting processes and internal controls.
- Identify discrepancies, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Improve efficiency of accounting procedures and reporting.
10. Ad-Hoc
- Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by Management.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,999.00 per month
