About the Role

Reporting to the Area Manager, SG | MY Cluster, the Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the branch’s end-to-end operations and ensuring compliance with applicable legal, corporate, ISO, and GDP requirements. The role will lead the branch in achieving operational excellence, business growth, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This includes managing and developing the team, optimizing resources and processes, supporting commercial activities, strengthening customer relationships, and taking overall responsibility for the branch’s P&L.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the branch’s end-to-end operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Drive a customer-centric culture and consistently exceed customer expectations through the delivery of high-quality service.
  • Optimize branch productivity and operational efficiency while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce operating costs.
  • Optimize workforce productivity and ensure the effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Drive sustainable business growth within the designated geographical area and maximize the branch’s overall business potential.
  • Monitor operational performance and continuously drive improvements in productivity, competitiveness, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, corporate policies, ISO standards, GDP requirements, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Take overall responsibility for the branch’s P&L, including financial planning, accounting, financial controlling, and performance management.
  • Prepare and manage the annual branch budget, including investment requirements, manpower planning, and operational expenditure.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and oversee branch financial activities, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and FSL.
  • Develop and strengthen customer relationships in close collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Support business development initiatives and accompany Sales team members on customer visits and meetings when required.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the development and execution of strategies to grow market share and revenue.
  • Ensure the implementation and continuous maintenance of standardized processes, structures, and systems in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee all personnel and HR-related matters, including workforce planning, recruitment, training, development, coaching, and performance management, in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop branch employees to build a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Directly and/or indirectly supervise and manage up to 50 employees, ensuring effective workforce planning, performance, and productivity.
  • Ensure the company’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Values are fully implemented, understood, and adhered to by all employees.
  • Act as a role model for leadership, professionalism, integrity, and customer focus.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across functions and organizational boundaries.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in the freight forwarding industry; 10 years’ experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in international languages is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in air freight, ocean freight, logistics, and/or Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Strong knowledge of market and competitor dynamics, as well as industry trends, challenges, and developments.
  • Strong strategic and planning skills, with the ability to translate business strategies into effective operational plans and execution.
  • Proven track record in people management and leadership, with strong knowledge and experience in recruitment, selection, training, development, coaching, conflict management, and performance management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an open, professional, and confidential communication style.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with a high level of accountability and ownership.
  • Strong results orientation with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate efforts and resources effectively across different functions and organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrate leadership by acting as a role model in accordance with the company’s Corporate Values.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
