Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Executive role with positions available in Shah Alam (2 vacancies) and Johor (2 vacancies).
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, generating leads, building strong relationships with prospective clients and partners, and supporting the organisation’s business growth objectives. The role requires a proactive and results-driven individual who is comfortable engaging with businesses, industry stakeholders, and potential partners.
Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting for new clients, conducting market research, arranging business meetings, preparing proposals and presentations, following up on leads, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and partners. The Business Development Executive will also monitor sales pipelines, track business development activities, prepare reports, and work closely with internal teams to ensure effective delivery of services and programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Generate, qualify, and manage leads through the business development pipeline.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Arrange and conduct meetings, presentations, and business discussions with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, and other relevant business development materials.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and convert qualified leads into business opportunities.
- Achieve agreed business development, sales, and partnership targets.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and potential new markets.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, meetings, follow-ups, and business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand client requirements and develop suitable solutions or programmes.
- Manage existing accounts and identify opportunities for repeat business, upselling, and long-term collaboration.
- Prepare regular business development reports and provide updates on pipeline performance and market activities.
- Represent the organisation professionally at meetings, networking sessions, exhibitions, conferences, and industry events.
- Travel within the assigned region when required to meet clients and attend business activities.
Qualifications
- Ability to drive New Business Development and Lead Generation activities to expand partnerships, clients, and business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of business development and sales principles, with experience managing pipelines and achieving growth targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in engaging clients and conducting business presentations.
- Strong Account Management skills to maintain relationships, understand client needs, and support long-term partnerships.
- Proactive, target-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account management, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
- Experience in education, training, workforce development, skills development, corporate services, or industry-related sectors will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple leads and initiatives simultaneously.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and basic productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business software.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, business development activities, events, and networking sessions when required.
- Possess a valid driving licence and have access to own transportation will be an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Fresh graduates with strong communication, networking, and business development potential may also be considered.
