KBC is seeking an Environmental Technologist & Health Coordinator to support environmental compliance, health programmes, regulatory reporting and ESG initiatives in a refinery environment. The role will provide technical support, manage environmental data and documentation, liaise with regulatory authorities, address compliance risks, and contribute to continuous improvement in environmental performance, occupational health and sustainability, ultimately helping KBC maintain regulatory compliance, minimise environmental risks and achieve responsible, sustainable refinery operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in stakeholder consultations and engagements with DOE, KASTAM, SPAN, KKM, Local Authorities, public meetings and other relevant parties to support KBC’s operations and regulatory submissions.
• Provide environmental expertise, technical advice and support for projects, maintenance activities, and refinery operations.
• Act as the custodian of KBC’s environmental data, ensuring accurate compilation, maintenance, and submission of reports in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure Performance Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) activities are carried out in accordance with KBC refinery procedures and applicable legal requirements.
• Monitor environmental compliance and advise Management on areas of non-compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations or company policies.
• Proactively identify and resolve environmental-related issues that may result in compounds, enforcement actions and/or legal action by regulatory authorities.
• Plan, coordinate and implement health and environmental programmes within the refinery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental performance, occupational health and ESG practices.
• Maintain proper records and documentation for environmental and health-related activities, inspections, audits and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to environmental and health matters as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Candidates with knowledge or experience in ISO Audits, Environmental Compliance Audits, Environmental Performance Monitoring, EIA, EMP and ESG programmes will be given priority.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare effective presentations, reports, and technical documentation.
• Good communication and liaison skills with regulatory authorities and external parties, including DOE, SPAN, KASTAM, KKM, Local Authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
• Able to respond effectively to management requirements, prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to environmental and health-related matters.
• Candidates with 3-5 years of experience in an environmental-related field are preferred. Fresh graduates with a strong interest in environmental-related work are also encouraged to apply.
