Candidates with demonstrated expertise in robotics system development, autonomous robotics, robotic control, and intelligent robotic applications are highly encouraged to apply.
Applicants with experience in the following are particularly desirable:
- Robot Operating System (ROS),
- autonomous mobile robots,
- robotic perception,
- machine vision,
- embedded systems,
- robotic navigation, and
- AI-enabled robotic systems
Experience in developing and supervising robotics projects, robotic competitions, and industry-based robotic applications will be an added advantage.
The academic staff will normally:
- Contribute to teaching at undergraduate, honours and post graduate level;
- Engage in independent scholarship and/or research;
- Contribute to professional activities appropriate to his or her profession or discipline;
- Contribute to the innovation ecosystem and contribute expertise to the creation of value from innovation and engagement activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant PhD from a recognized institution.
- Registration with a professional body such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is required.
- Professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer), or progression towards such qualification, is desirable.
- Experience in machine learning, computer vision, intelligent systems, and AI-enabled robotics applications is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge in robotics, mechatronics, automation, ROS 2.0, robotic control systems, embedded systems, and AI applications.
- Experience in robotics teaching, laboratory supervision, and student robotics project development in higher education.
- Experience in autonomous robot development, robotic integration, IoT-enabled robotics, or smart manufacturing systems is an advantage.
- Proven emerging track record of research output and impact in robotics, AI, and intelligent systems.
- Experience in fostering collaborations between academia and industry is desirable.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
