Job Summary
The Senior Front Desk Officer is responsible for overseeing daily front desk operations while ensuring excellent guest service and smooth hotel operations. This role supports the Front Office Manager in supervising Front Desk Officers, handling guest concerns, coordinating room operations, and ensuring compliance with hotel SOPs.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Operations
- Welcome guests professionally during check-in and check-out.
- Handle reservations, room assignments, and payment processing.
- Respond promptly to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Ensure all guests receive excellent customer service throughout their stay.
- Maintain accurate guest records in the Property Management System (PMS).
Front Desk Supervision
- Supervise and guide Front Desk Officers during each shift.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers with proper documentation.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and grooming standards.
- Assist in training new front desk staff and interns.
- Ensure compliance with Front Office SOPs.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare daily shift reports and occupancy reports.
- Verify cash float and daily cashier balancing.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping on room status and room readiness.
- Liaise with Maintenance regarding room defects and guest requests.
- Escalate operational issues to the Front Office Manager when necessary.
Sales & Revenue Support
- Promote walk-in sales and hotel packages.
- Upsell room upgrades and additional hotel services where applicable.
- Monitor booking channels and reservation accuracy.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of Front Office experience in a hotel.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or senior front desk role is an advantage.
- Experience using a Property Management System (PMS) is preferred.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
