Position Summary:

Responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of electrical system commissioning across a portfolio of complex, mission-critical facilities, including data centers. This role ensures that all electrical systems are installed, tested, and verified to meet client/owner project requirements and operational reliability standards.

The Director will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and program oversight to regional commissioning teams, ensuring consistent execution, quality control, and alignment with BVPI commissioning standards, client standards, specifications & expectations, and international codes and best practices. This role will manage a regional team of Associate Directors and Technical Team Leads (TTL) and carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include employee training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy

• Have direct input into maintaining and further developing our global commissioning standards to ensure best-in-class delivery to our existing and future clients.

• Develop and implement our global electrical commissioning strategy, standards, and procedures in alignment with BVPI standards and best practices.

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical commissioning associate directors and Technical Team Leads (TTL) and engineers across multiple regions.

• Act as senior technical authority for electrical systems including EPMS.

• Oversee resource allocation, workforce planning, and competency development for the electrical commissioning discipline.

·      Direct and report to VP of Commissioning on training of the technical team.

2. Project Delivery

• Carry out site visits throughout the region to ensure quality project delivery for our clients.

• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, and other applicable standards.

• Coordinate with design, construction, operations, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless turnover and system reliability.

• Lead root cause analysis and technical investigations for critical system issues during commissioning.

3. Technical Oversight

• Expert review of electrical designs, single-line diagrams, protective coordination studies, and controls integration.

• Ensure all electrical systems—including MV/LV switchgear, UPS, generator systems, PDUs, and BMS/EPMS—are tested and verified for redundancy and fault tolerance.

• Review and approve commissioning test procedures and reports for quality and completeness.

• Lead lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives across all projects.

4. Governance & Compliance

• Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety, environmental, and corporate compliance requirements.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and emerging technologies.

• Develop metrics and KPIs to measure performance, quality, and efficiency across commissioning programs.

5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the senior commissioning management during high level client meetings, business review meetings, and technical reviews.

• Support business development by contributing to proposal efforts, project scoping, and technical presentations.

• Foster strong relationships with clients ensure successful project outcomes and mitigate escalations.

Management Responsibilities:

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, industry standard CxMS such as CxAlloy, BIM360 etc.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related technical field

Experience:

• Large Scale Datacenter experience preferred

• Hyperscale Datacenter experience preferred
