About the role
We are seeking a high-calibre, qualified accountant with strong external audit experience to join our growing finance team. This role offers exposure to group consolidation, costing, corporate reporting, IPO/M&A readiness, and strategic finance initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for audit-trained professionals who are looking to transition into a dynamic commercial environment with regional exposure and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation
Prepare monthly and ATC Cleantec (ATCCT) group consolidated financial statements.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards (MFRS/IFRS).
Review intercompany transactions and ensure proper elimination for consolidation.
Maintain financial accuracy across multiple entities and cost centres.
2. Full Set Accounts – ATCCT Plant 2
Take ownership of the full set of accounts, covering General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank and cash transactions, intercompany accounts, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, prepayments and other balance sheet accounts.
Ensure all accounting transactions are completely and accurately recorded in the accounting system with proper supporting documents and audit trail.
Coordinate and complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing within the Group reporting timeline.
Prepare and review Amoeba report, trial balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, supporting schedules and management reporting pack.
Perform and review monthly bank, supplier, customer, intercompany and key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and cleared promptly.
Review journal entries including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll, provisions, reclassifications and closing adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain and review fixed asset register, inventory accounting, cost recognition and other accounting schedules required for financial reporting.
3. Tax & Statutory Compliance
Take responsibility for the preparation, review and timely submission of tax and statutory compliance requirements.
Prepare and review Sales Tax (SST), Import Service Tax (IST), Withholding Tax (WHT), corporate income tax schedules, tax estimation workings and other statutory supporting schedules.
Manage Malaysia e-Invoicing compliance, including submission monitoring, validation status, rejected/cancelled transaction follow-up, reconciliation between E-Invoice and accounting records, and timely escalation of unresolved exceptions.
Maintain proper supporting documentation for MIDA exemption, import-duty exemption, Schedule A applications and other government or statutory reporting.
Prepare audit and tax schedules and liaise with external auditors, tax agents and relevant authorities as assigned.
Monitor statutory deadlines and ensure no late filing, penalty or unresolved compliance issue arises finance activities.
4. Costing & Analysis
Manage and maintain product costing structure, including standard and actual costs.
Analyse cost variances and margin fluctuations; highlight key drivers.
Work closely with operations and production teams to understand cost behaviour and impact.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budget and highlight variances.
6. Audit & Statutory Reporting
Lead preparation of year-end audit schedules and financial statements.
Liaise with external auditors and tax agents to ensure timely completion of audits.
Coordinate and prepare statutory filings and financial disclosures.
7. IPO & M&A Readiness
Support financial due diligence and data room preparation for IPO or merger/acquisition exercises.
Prepare required financial documentation, business analysis, and board materials.
8. Team Supervision
Supervise and guide the finance team in daily operations including AP, AR, GL, and reporting functions.
Review team deliverables and ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy.
Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to finance team members.
9. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Maintain accounting policies and ensure internal controls are enforced.
Assist in finance-related process improvements and automation initiatives.
Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions.
10. Other Duties
Any other work tasks as assigned by the Group CFO/ Group FM/ FM.
About you
Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field
ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred
CPA/MIA membership is advantageous
Minimum 4 years of external audit experience in a reputable audit firm
Strong knowledge of MFRS / IFRS and financial reporting standards
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
Proactive, independent, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
