Detailed Description:
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Work independently to design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies. May also solve complex problems in cooperation with a team of other engineers.
Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to design a control system that will enable the system to perform its intended function safely and reliably.
Perform engineering calculations with respect to power consumption, current capacity, shielding, signal integrity, risk assessment, etc., as related to automation machinery and product designs.
Develops new product prototypes to validate automation and product designs meets performance requirements, quality, and cost goals
Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.
Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. e.g. creation of Schematics, Cable Routing Diagrams, Panel Layouts, Bills of Material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
Analyze and interpret data and information
Provide support during the manufacturing process
Recommend modifications for systems
Create reports and documentation

Project Management - Ability to manage a single line engineering project with a limited number of participants. Create a project/change management plan, establish and distribute project roles, and communicate what is needed from the project participants in order to make the project successful.

Financial Acumen / Business Planning - Solid understanding of Celestica’s budgeting and accounting system and the cost accounting practices relevant to engineering work.
