Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and service-driven Retail Executive to join our 24-hour bookstore team at Sunway Square Mall. As a Retail Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the daily retail operations, ensuring high customer satisfaction, and maintaining strong store standards. You will also act as a resource and role model to Retail Coordinators, assisting the Retail Manager and Section Heads in executing store plans, promotions, and ensuring smooth floor operations. This role is ideal for someone with prior retail experience, a love for books, and a desire to take on more responsibility in a dynamic, team-focused environment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service on the shop floor.
• Assist customers with book selections and offer informed recommendations.
• Ensure store cleanliness, visual standards, and shelf organisation are consistently upheld.
• Process cashier transactions with speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Support Section Heads in merchandising, restocking, and general floor readiness.
• Guide and support Retail Coordinators during daily operations; act as a point of reference during peak hours.
• Participate actively in promotions, events, and marketing campaigns.
• Help monitor stock levels and support inventory control activities (e.g., daily counts, receiving, restocking).
• Provide feedback to management on customer preferences, popular titles, or operational issues.
• Support opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain high product knowledge and stay informed on store offerings and campaigns.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail or bookstore environment.
• A team player with a customer-first mindset and a passion for books.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability in task execution.
• Ability to work independently and handle minor issues on the floor without supervision.
• Flexible with work schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
