Key Responsibilities

1. Material & Equipment Verification

• Verify all M&E materials and equipment delivered to site against approved Material Approval Applications (MAA), sample boards, and technical submissions.
• Inspect incoming equipment such as switchboards, chillers, pumps, fire alarm panels, cables, piping, and trunking.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and protection of materials from damage, moisture, and dust before installation.

2. Installation Quality Control

• Inspect M&E installations to ensure compliance with approved Coordinated Services Drawings (CSD) and Builder's Work Drawings (BWD).
• Verify installation quality for:
• Cable trays and containment systems
• HVAC ductwork and piping
• Plumbing and drainage systems
• Fire protection systems
• Electrical panels and equipment
• Issue Site Memos and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective or non-compliant works.

3. Site Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise builder's work related to M&E installations, including:
• Floor sleeves
• Wall penetrations
• Embedded conduits
• Equipment plinths and foundations
• Identify and resolve site coordination issues between mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural works.
• Escalate major technical clashes to consultants for resolution.

4. Testing & Commissioning

• Witness and verify testing activities, including:
• Cable insulation resistance (Megger) tests
• Continuity tests
• Earthing tests
• Water pressure tests
• Sanitary flow tests
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Witness final commissioning of major systems, including generators, fire protection systems, and building services.

5. Statutory & Authority Compliance

• Ensure installations comply with:
• Local building regulations
• Electrical safety standards
• Water authority requirements
• Fire department requirements
• Energy efficiency regulations
• Support authority inspections and CCC documentation requirements.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily site records and inspection reports.
• Track installation progress and site issues.
• Review and verify As-Built Drawings.
• Assist with progress verification for contractor payment claims.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Building Services Engineering
• Related disciplines

Professional Registration

• Registered Inspector of Works (IOW) with the relevant authority.
• For Malaysia, registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) in Mechanical or Electrical discipline is highly preferred and may be mandatory for statutory supervision duties.

Experience

• Preferably 3-8 years of site supervision or inspection experience in:
• Commercial buildings
• High-rise developments
• Industrial projects
• Data centres
• Mixed-use developments

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• M&E services installation
• Shop drawings and coordinated drawings
• Testing & commissioning procedures
• Local authority requirements
• Quality control and inspection processes

Personal Competencies

• Attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams
• Proactive approach to identifying construction and coordination issues

Pay: Up to RM7,000.00 per month
