Singapore Red Cross Academy (SRCA) develops capabilities and strengthens community preparedness through practical, learner-centred training. Within the Academy, the Centre for Psychosocial Resilience & Humanitarian Studies (CPR&HS) delivers training and capacity-building programmes in psychological first aid, psychosocial support, mental well-being, caregiving, community resilience and humanitarian education. Our programmes support diverse groups, including members of the public, caregivers, educators, social service and community care professionals, corporate partners, volunteers and humanitarian practitioners. By equipping individuals with practical knowledge and skills, CPR&HS contributes to building safer, more caring and resilient communities while supporting the Singapore Red Cross’ mission to alleviate human suffering.

Role Description

The CPR&HS Adjunct Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training in areas such as psychological first aid, mental well-being, caregiving, community resilience and humanitarian education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting engaging face-to-face and online training sessions for diverse groups of mostly adult learners
• Facilitating discussions, activities, case scenarios and practical exercises
• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment, particularly when facilitating sensitive topics
• Assessing learners’ knowledge and skills through written, verbal or practical assessments, where required
• Providing constructive feedback to support learners in achieving the intended learning outcomes
• Ensuring that training is delivered according to the approved curriculum, Academy standards and relevant programme requirements
• Completing attendance records, training documentation and post-course feedback promptly and accurately
• Working collaboratively with the CPR&HS team and fellow trainers to support programme delivery and continuous improvement

This is a contract-based, hybrid role based in Singapore. Training may be conducted at the Singapore Red Cross Academy, client premises, community locations or online. Preparation and administrative work may be carried out remotely where appropriate.

Qualifications

• ACLP- or ACTA-trained
• Relevant educational or professional qualifications in psychology, counselling, social work, social science, mental health, caregiving, healthcare, education, humanitarian work or a related field
• Relevant professional experience in mental well-being, psychosocial support, social service, caregiving, community work or humanitarian services
• Experience in adult learning, training or facilitation, with the ability to engage learners and adapt delivery to different learning needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and facilitate sensitive discussions appropriately
• Ability to create and maintain a psychologically safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment
• Good organisational and time-management skills for lesson preparation, training delivery and documentation
• Comfortable using digital tools, presentation software and online learning platforms
• Experience delivering psychological first aid, mental well-being, caregiving or humanitarian education programmes would be an advantage
• Able to commit to contract-based and variable training schedules, including weekdays, evenings or weekends when required
