About Metta Home

Metta Home for the Disabled and its Day Activity Centre, established in December 2000, provide vital residential and day care services for adults with intellectual disabilities aged 18 to 55. Funded by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Metta Home serves 103 residents while the Day Activity Centre supports up to 50 clients. As part of Metta Welfare Association, we are committed to empowering individuals with special needs to lead more independent and dignified lives through holistic care, rehabilitation, and active engagement with the community.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Programme Executive in planning and conducting programmes, activities and outings across the 3 - Disability Care centres.

- Prepare activity materials, equipment and spaces, and ensure resources are maintained in good condition.

- Provide supervision and assistance to clients, and encourage their participation and engagement.

- Monitor and report clients’ physical, emotional and behavioural well-being.

- Maintain attendance records, programme schedules, consent forms and other documentation.

- Support individual care/activity plans, data collection and programme evaluation.

- Assist with volunteer coordination, registration, orientation and attendance.

- Support centre events, festive celebrations and volunteer appreciation activities.

- Maintain a clean, safe and organised environment in compliance with workplace safety and organisational policies.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Programme Executive or Centre Manager.

Requirements

- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working with adults with special needs.

- NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma in Programme Management, Social Services or equivalent qualification.

- Able to work weekends and public holidays when required.

- Bilingual and/or conversant in relevant dialects.

Competencies

- Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

- Responsible, hardworking and meticulous.

- Service-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
