Duties& Responsibilities:
Monitor global and regional carbon markets, including compliance and voluntary Carbon markets.
Track carbon prices, market trends, policy developments, and supply-demand fundamentals.
Develop carbon price forecasts and scenario analysis.
Support hedging strategies for carbon-related exposures, if needed, which will entail execution and settlement of Carbon credits/ allowances.
Keep abreast of different Carbon reduction projects and assists in assessing carbon reduction economics and payback models.
Support environmental and social responsibility initiatives of the company tied to environmental performance and community impact.
Monitor evolving climate regulations and carbon policies in operating jurisdictions.
Analyse business impacts of carbon taxes, border adjustment mechanisms, fuel standards, methane regulations, and ESG disclosure rules.
Develop quantitative models for carbon exposure and reduction scenarios.
Produce regular reports like Carbon market updates and price outlook reports, carbon trading performance reports and carbon offset project evaluations.
Explore how Petron can benefit from carbon market developments.
Perform other risk management functions or other work as may be delegated by the Risk Manager.
