Linux Server Engineer– Website & Online Server Maintenance
Location: Remote / Work From Home
Preferred Location: Klang Valley, Kuala Lumpur / Selangor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Linux Server Engineer to join our team and take ownership of our websites, online servers, and production infrastructure.
This is a 100% Work From Home (Remote / WFH) position. However, candidates based in Klang Valley are strongly preferred, as occasional face-to-face meetings, technical discussions, and team collaboration may be required.
This role is best suited for someone who is technically hands-on, highly independent, and able to think critically, troubleshoot problems systematically, and take ownership of server-related issues from investigation through resolution.
We are looking for someone who can work independently without constant supervision and who is comfortable handling real production environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and ensure the availability and reliability of company websites and online services
Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based production servers
Work with Ubuntu and/or CentOS environments
Manage web services including Nginx, Apache, MySQL, Redis, and related components
Monitor server performance, uptime, system resources, and service health
Perform routine server maintenance and optimization
Identify and resolve Linux OS and server-related issues promptly
Troubleshoot website downtime, slow loading, connection issues, and service failures
Diagnose web server, database, network, and application-related problems
Analyze logs and system information to identify root causes
Respond to critical production incidents and restore services efficiently
Participate in an on-call support rotation when required
Perform Linux system patching, security updates, and version upgrades
Manage server backup and recovery processes
Conduct log analysis and identify potential problems before they become critical
Maintain system configurations and operational documentation
Support deployment and maintenance of internal systems and applications
Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate repetitive tasks
Improve server monitoring, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
Identify opportunities to reduce manual work through automation
Document server configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and technical solutions
Work with team members to improve infrastructure stability and reliability
Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in Linux Server / System Administration / DevOps / Infrastructure
Strong practical experience working with Linux servers
Experience with Ubuntu and/or CentOS
Comfortable working extensively in a CLI environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Able to investigate issues independently and determine the root cause
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make logical technical decisions
Able to take ownership of technical issues and follow them through until resolution
Willing to provide occasional on-call support for critical incidents
Good communication skills and able to clearly explain technical problems and solutions
Fresh graduates and candidates with less than 4 years of relevant experience will not be considered for this position.

Enjoy finding the root cause rather than simply applying temporary fixes
Are proactive in improving server reliability and performance
Have experience managing your own technical projects or infrastructure
Can communicate technical issues clearly to team members
Are willing to provide occasional on-call support when critical incidents occur
Are based in or around Klang Valley, which is preferred for occasional meetings and technical discussions
No daily office attendance required
Occasional face-to-face meetings and technical discussions when necessary
