Electrical Engineering Intern

Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to support our engineering, solar PV and project operations.

The intern will gain hands-on exposure to electrical systems, site activities, technical documentation, troubleshooting and project coordination under the guidance of our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in daily electrical and project-related activities.
• Support solar PV projects, including site survey, installation monitoring, testing and commissioning.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layouts, technical drawings and project documentation.
• Assist with basic electrical calculations, load assessment and equipment selection.
• Support preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and material planning.
• Conduct site surveys and collect technical information, measurements and photographs.
• Assist in electrical inspection, testing and basic troubleshooting activities.
• Support engineers and technicians in identifying electrical faults and rectification requirements.
• Monitor project progress and assist with site coordination.
• Coordinate with technicians, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams where required.
• Assist in checking materials and equipment delivered to project sites.
• Prepare site reports, progress updates, testing records and supporting documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
• Assist with electrical maintenance and project rectification works.
• Support ongoing company projects, including TM-related electrical and technical works where required.
• Assist with meter inspection, testing, troubleshooting and related documentation under supervision.
• Ensure work is carried out according to safety requirements and company procedures.
• Perform other engineering or project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety.
• Able to read basic electrical drawings and SLDs is an advantage.
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
• Exposure to solar PV, electrical installation or testing is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Willing to learn and perform both office and site-based work.
• Able to communicate and work well with engineers, technicians and project teams.
• Responsible, punctual and able to follow instructions.
• Willing to travel to project sites when required.
• Possess own transport is an advantage.
