About the role - Placement in Johor Office
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team at our Johor location. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the financial records of the organisation. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial accounting, preparing comprehensive financial reports and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

What you'll be doing
Preparing and posting financial transactions to the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
Reconciling bank statements, balance sheet accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy
Recording and classifying business transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable
Supporting the audit process by organising and preparing required documentation
Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records and documentation
Assisting with tax compliance and preparation of tax-related documentation
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and filing systems
Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
What we're looking for
Professional qualification in accounting such as AAT, ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW or equivalent recognised qualification
Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar accounting role within financial accounting and reporting
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Reliable communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
