About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Production Assistant Manager to oversee the overall operations of our assigned production facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules are achieved while driving productivity, cost efficiency, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This role requires strong leadership and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the overall production operations of the assigned factory to achieve production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Plan, organise and monitor daily production activities to maximise productivity, efficiency and resource utilisation.
- Develop and implement manpower planning, including workforce allocation and headcount optimisation, based on operational requirements.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce material wastage and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety and overall operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, SOPs, food safety requirements, quality standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor key production performance indicators and prepare reports, analysis and recommendations for the Managing Director.
- Lead, coach and develop Production Supervisors and production employees to achieve departmental objectives and build a high-performance team.
- Work closely with Planning, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, R&D and other departments to ensure smooth production planning, material availability and timely order fulfilment.
- Identify operational issues and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant production/manufacturing experience, preferably in FMCG, food or confectionery manufacturing.
- Proven experience in production planning, manpower management and factory operations.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, productivity improvement, cost control and continuous improvement.
- Experience in food safety, quality systems and manufacturing compliance is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, results-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends or public holidays when required.
- Able to stand for extended periods and regularly navigate a fast-paced factory floor.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
