Tanah Makmur Berhad is looking for an operationally strong and strategically minded General Manager, Finance to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the Group’s financial direction and transformation agenda.

This is more than a traditional finance leadership role. Working closely with the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), you will facilitate to translate financial insights to facilitate management decision making.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across the Group’s businesses, influence major strategic initiatives and contribute directly to investment decisions, portfolio optimisation, M&A, joint ventures, digital transformation and long-term value creation.

Operation Function

1.   Partner with the GCFO in overseeing the Accounting & Finance function including statutory requirements.

2.   Oversee Group-wide treasury operations, cash flow management, and funding strategies to ensure optimal capital allocation and liquidity.

3.   Champion the transformation of the Group’s finance function through digitalisation, automation, data analytics and intelligent finance systems.

4.   Participate in company-wide financial and operational transformation initiatives, system development, and embedding a performance-driven and value-focused culture.

5.   Collaborate cross-functionally to optimise resource allocation and business outcomes across all segments.

6.   Strengthen Group-wide financial governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with international standards.

7.   Establish robust risk management practices to safeguard the company’s assets, reputation, and financial resilience in a dynamic market environment.

8.   Provide mentorship to the finance team to build a capable and agile finance function for the Group.

9.   Help build a future-ready finance function capable of supporting a growing and increasingly dynamic organisation.

Corporate Function

1.   To partner with the GCFO in executing Group-level financial strategies that align with the company vision and enable sustained profitability and shareholder value.

2.   To work closely with the GCFO in developing optimal capital structure, investment prioritisation, and portfolio optimisation.

3.   Together with the GCFO, to provide support to the GCEO in financial evaluation, deal structuring, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.

4.   Provide forward-looking financial modelling, scenario planning, and analytics to support agile and informed decision-making.

5.   Provide Top Management and BoD with concise reports and insightful analysis.

6.   Lead the development of Budget and Strategic Financial Planning for the Group.

7.   Identify emerging financial and business risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

8.   Keep abreast of developments in relevant legislation and guidelines, local and foreign economies, stock market trends, and relevant industries.

Qualification Requirements

1.   Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline, or a recognised professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA or equivalent.

2.   Minimum 15 - 20 years of progressive experience in finance, with significant experience in a senior financial management or Group finance leadership role.

3.   Experience in property development, investment, private equity, diversified groups or other capital-intensive businesses will be an advantage.

4.   Strong understanding of corporate finance, treasury, investment analysis, financial modelling, budgeting and strategic planning.

5.   Exposure to M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructuring or strategic transactions is highly desirable.

6.   Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or equivalent professional body.

7.   Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect financial insights to business strategy and value creation.

8.   A transformation-oriented mindset with an appetite for digitalisation, analytics and continuous improvement.
