Key Responsibilities

Provide development/enhancement, maintenance, and production support for the Policy Asia system.

Analyse business requirements, assess system impacts and provide appropriate technical solutions.

Support and maintain GI products and related business functionalities.

Perform detailed analysis of system problems and recommend effective solutions.

Ensure solutions are robust, maintainable and aligned with business requirements and system standards.

Essential Requirements Experience

Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience working with the Policy Asia system.

Strong experience in General Insurance (GI) applications and business processes.

Technical Skills

Strong Smart COBOL, SQL/DB2 development experience.

Strong AS400 / IBM i technical skills.

Experience with BusinessObjects

Good understanding of system integration and data flows within Policy Asia.

Functional / Business Knowledge

Strong functional knowledge of General Insurance products and processes, including:

Policy administration

Debtor / receivables

Claims

Underwriting (UW)

Accounting

Other Requirements

Good understanding of the SDLC, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support.

Able to analyse complex problems and provide practical technical solutions.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong sense of ownership, commitment, and responsibility for assigned deliverables.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Policy Asia specialist with both strong technical capabilities and solid GI business knowledge, and should be able to independently analyse requirements, identify system impacts, and deliver solutions with minimal guidance.
