JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Landscape Officer
Job Summary
The Landscape Officer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring landscape maintenance activities to ensure all landscaped areas are well maintained, healthy, safe, clean, and aesthetically presentable. The role includes conducting site inspections, supervising landscape workers and contractors, monitoring work quality, coordinating maintenance schedules, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with landscape and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Landscape Maintenance
- Monitor and ensure proper maintenance of lawns, trees, shrubs, groundcovers, flower beds, and other landscaped areas.
- Ensure grass cutting, pruning, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, planting, and general landscape maintenance are carried out according to schedule.
- Site Inspection
- Conduct daily and routine inspections of landscaped areas.
- Identify unhealthy plants, damaged trees, pest and disease issues, irrigation problems, and other landscape defects.
- Recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
- Staff & Contractor Supervision
- Supervise landscape workers and contractors.
- Ensure works are carried out according to the agreed scope of work, schedule, specifications, and required quality standards.
- Monitor manpower deployment, attendance, productivity, and work performance where applicable.
- Work Planning & Scheduling
- Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly landscape maintenance activities.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective landscape maintenance works.
- Ensure priority and urgent works are attended to promptly.
- Quality Control
- Monitor the quality of landscape maintenance works.
- Ensure all landscaped areas meet the required company or property standards.
- Follow up on defects and outstanding works until completion.
- Plant Health & Horticulture
- Monitor the condition and health of plants and trees.
- Recommend appropriate fertilization, pruning, pest control, disease treatment, or replacement of plants.
- Ensure appropriate horticultural practices are followed.
- Irrigation System
- Monitor the operation and condition of irrigation and watering systems.
- Identify leaks, blockages, damaged sprinklers, or insufficient watering.
- Coordinate repair and adjustment works when required.
- Landscape Improvement
- Recommend landscape enhancement and beautification works.
- Coordinate replacement planting, seasonal planting, and landscape improvement projects.
- Assist management in planning landscape upgrades when required.
- Materials, Tools & Inventory
- Monitor the usage and stock levels of fertilizers, soil, plants, chemicals, tools, and other landscape materials.
- Ensure landscape tools, machinery, and equipment are properly maintained and safely stored.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly landscape reports as required.
- Maintain inspection checklists, maintenance records, photographic records, work progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Report significant defects, incidents, and maintenance issues to management.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure workers and contractors comply with workplace safety requirements.
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used during landscape works.
- Ensure landscape activities are carried out safely and do not create hazards to residents, visitors, employees, or the public.
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with management, maintenance teams, contractors, vendors, and other departments on landscape-related matters.
- Attend to landscape-related feedback and complaints and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Other Duties
- Perform any other landscape-related duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant working experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, property management, facilities management, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of plants, trees, fertilizers, pruning, pest control, and general landscape maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape equipment.
- Ability to supervise workers and contractors effectively.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to conduct inspections and prepare basic reports.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Able to work outdoors and conduct regular site inspections.
- Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,600.00 per month
