Job description:

The ICT Project Engineer - Data Center Fit Out will be responsible for overseeing the execution, and completion of the client/customer fit out requirements of a multi stage data center build. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in fit out project execution and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure components such as structured cabling, network equipment installation, and telecommunications systems. Managing contractors to the required quality, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of multi-stage data center fit out projects, from initial build to final handover, ensuring alignment with client requirements, scope, and quality standards. Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal subject matter experts to drive project milestones, resolve technical issues, and maintain transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and progress reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and archived per company and industry standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to safety regulations, project specifications, and quality benchmarks. Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with local codes and industry standards.
• Guide the development of RFI/RFP documents, oversee bid analysis, and support the selection of contractors and vendors.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, technology upgrades, and best practice adoption to enhance project outcomes and future scalability.
• Respond promptly to project emergencies or outages, support commissioning activities, and ensure operational readiness for day-one launch.

Requirements and skills

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in data center structured cabling, ICT equipment installation, and fit out project management (preferably mid-size builds of at least 10 MW in colocation environments).
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including structured cabling, network equipment, power distribution, and telecommunications systems. Familiarity with BMS and CPOS setup is a plus.
• Good grasp of Malaysia’s government codes of practice and prior experience working with local electrical, telecom contractors, and authorities is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Certifications such as PMP, CDCP, or equivalent in Data Center Facilities Design are advantageous.
• Project Tools: Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, Fulcrum, or similar project management software.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Johor Bahru (Johor Bahru)
