Hiring: Part-Time Senior Software Engineer

This is not an entry-level or junior developer role.

We are specifically looking for developers who have previously worked on production systems and are comfortable investigating unfamiliar codebases, troubleshooting independently and making sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.

This role is suitable for an experienced developer who already has a full-time position or other commitments and is looking for a meaningful long-term technical engagement rather than short-term freelance projects.

Our platform combines web portals, Flutter applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure and edge devices to deliver AI-targeted digital advertising. The product is already functional and in use, but improvements are being planned.

Your primary focus:

• Reviewing and understanding the existing codebase

• Maintaining and improving the existing system

• Developing feature enhancements

• Investigating and resolving application bugs

• Troubleshooting APIs, backend services, databases and application/device communication

• Supporting our Alibaba Cloud environment where required

• Identifying technical risks and proposing practical improvements

• Supporting UAT and production deployments

• Gradually taking over technical knowledge from our existing development vendor

• Improving technical documentation and reducing dependency on external vendors

Relevant experience:

• Flutter / Dart

• Backend APIs and databases

• Android / APK development

• ONNX / AI model integration

• Alibaba Cloud or other cloud platforms

• Linux servers

• CI/CD and application deployment

• Edge computing / IoT devices

• Production troubleshooting and system maintenance

If you do not meet every aspect above, don't worry! You do not need to be an expert of all technology listed, as you won't be handling all the above on your own.

What matters more is that you have enough real-world experience to understand how different components interact, investigate problems independently and learn an existing system quickly.

Who we’re looking for:

• Has solid professional software development experience

• Has maintained or supported real production applications

• Can work independently with minimal supervision by meeting deadlines

• Is disciplined and reliable with agreed commitments

• Can identify problems instead of waiting for step-by-step instructions

• Communicates clearly when something is blocked or requires additional time

• Can work collaboratively with product, AI and other developers

• Is comfortable taking over and understanding code written by another development team

• Can recommend better technical approaches when appropriate

Because this is a part-time role, we do not expect 24/7 availability or immediate resolution of issues. However, we do expect professional ownership of the tasks you accept. Transitioning to full-time is also possible depending on your performance.

Compensation & Benefits:

The part-time compensation will be paid by an overseas company on a gross-payment basis. Additional performance incentives and discretionary bonuses may be provided based on individual contribution, performance, and impact.

Part-time team members will also be entitled to 8 days of paid time off (PTO) per year, accrued on a pro-rated basis according to the length of service. PTO requests are subject to prior approval and operational requirements.
