Summary:
A System Engineer role supporting IT infrastructure and system deployment for government security projects. The position involves close collaboration with project managers and engineers to ensure project delivery within timeline, cost, and scope, along with hands-on system, database, and network administration.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to support fulfilment of contract obligations within timeline, cost, and scope
Manage and oversee project documentation and subcontractor matters
Perform system setup, database setup, and resolve technical and design issues
Support IT infrastructure comprising Microsoft OS and Windows servers
Perform basic setup of network switches, network checks, and IP address configuration for network devices
Carry out installation, debugging, and troubleshooting of IT-related issues
Qualifications/Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent
At least 5 years of system-related experience
Experience in IT management systems deployment or equivalent
Proficient in database management, networking, Windows OS and servers
Experience setting up database clusters, data backup, and recovery processes
Experience in data migration, data integration, data monitoring, and data security/personal data protection
Strong skills in system and architecture design, with ability to produce professional documentation
Experience analysing tender requirements and supporting tender bidding
Knowledge of certification management, key management, and infrastructure services (e.g. AD, NMS, ClearPass, MFA/2FA, eG, KMS, AntiVirus, Patch Management, MDM)
Experience in system integration and UAT/FAT/SAT processes, familiar with deployment, staging, and production setup
Advantageous: SQL Management Studio, vulnerability assessment/VAPT tools, software development knowledge, access control systems (key management, CCTV, card reader, gantry), redundancy technologies (failover clustering, NIC teaming)
Strong interpersonal, organisational, and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Analytical mindset with ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
