Job descriptionResponsibilities
- Monitor and maintain ETP and WTP operations, ensuring activities are carried out according to maintenance schedules and operational standards.
- Manage chemical and spare parts inventory, including forecasting and indenting requirements.
- Ensure routine, preventive and scheduled maintenance activities are completed on time.
- Monitor equipment health, efficiency and daily consumption against established norms.
- Conduct gap analysis and corrective actions for excessive utility and chemical consumption.
- Ensure compliance with DOE requirements, statutory regulations and facility standards.
- Prepare utility budgets and monitor actual expenditure and consumption periodically.
- Plan and monitor revamp, modification, shutdown and plant improvement activities.
- Support minor and major engineering projects, including CAPEX, repair and refurbishment works.
- Lead and coordinate plant preventive maintenance activities with internal teams and external contractors.
- Drive plant reliability, operational efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify training needs and ensure Utility Department personnel are adequately trained and competent.
- Coordinate with HR, Administration, Workshop, Planning, Security and other support functions on utility-related activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering Utility, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- CePIETSO-BP and/or CePIETSO-PCP certification is required.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of ETP, WTP and wastewater treatment plant operations.
- Knowledge of ETP troubleshooting, analysis, repair and refurbishment.
- Good understanding of chemicals and wastewater treatment chemistry.
- Knowledge of aerobic and anaerobic treatment processes.
- Strong understanding of physical and biological wastewater treatment processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of filtration, equalization tanks, chemical dosing, PAC, polymer and alum.
- Experience with flotation tanks and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems.
- Knowledge of pH control, treatment parameters and jar testing.
- Understanding of HP30 monitoring and utility control systems such as USB systems.
- Knowledge of DOE requirements and statutory compliance.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, coordination and execution skills.
- Ability to manage contractors, maintenance activities, projects and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Manufacturing / industrial utility experience will be an added advantage
