About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Consumer Loan Officer to join Big Grain Credit Sdn. Bhd. in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that offers an attractive compensation package including basic salary, incentives, and commission opportunities. As a Consumer Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving our consumer lending business forward by identifying, evaluating, and processing loan applications whilst building strong relationships with clients. This role is fundamental to our growth strategy in the credit sector, as you will be responsible for meeting lending targets and expanding our customer base in the Kuching region.

Key responsibilities

• Source and identify potential borrowers within the consumer market, including salaried employees, business owners, and other eligible individuals

• Prepare and present loan proposals with clear documentation and supporting financial information to ensure compliance with company policies

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the loan application process and beyond, providing excellent customer service

• Negotiate loan terms with clients whilst ensuring profitability and adherence to regulatory guidelines

• Achieve monthly and quarterly loan disbursement targets and sales goals

• Liaise with internal departments including credit assessment, legal, and finance to expedite loan approvals

• Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, loan applications, and transactions in compliance with company and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in consumer lending, retail banking, or a related credit field, ideally with 2-3 years in a similar role

• Strong understanding of lending principles, credit risk assessment, and consumer credit products

• Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets

• Sound knowledge of financial analysis and ability to interpret financial statements and creditworthiness indicators

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele

• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in documentation

• Knowledge of Malaysian consumer credit regulations and lending compliance requirements is advantageous

• A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to help clients secure appropriate financing solutions
