We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to coordinate the planning between our poultry farms and chicken slaughterhouse.

The main responsibility of this position is to ensure the right quantity and target live weight of chickens are available at the slaughterhouse according to the production schedule and business requirements.

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Farm and Slaughterhouse teams to plan bird harvesting, monitor chicken growth and weight, and coordinate the movement of chickens from the farms to the slaughterhouse at the appropriate age and weight.

This position is ideal for someone with strong poultry production planning, data analysis, coordination and operational management experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesPoultry Harvesting & Weight Planning

• Plan and coordinate chicken harvesting schedules from poultry farms to the slaughterhouse.
• Monitor chicken age, growth rate and live body weight across different farm batches.
• Determine the appropriate harvesting date based on target live weight and slaughterhouse requirements.
• Ensure chickens are sent to the slaughterhouse according to the required weight range and quantity.
• Coordinate with Farm Managers/Supervisors to monitor flock performance and expected harvest dates.
• Review farm weight data and adjust harvesting plans when actual growth differs from the expected target.
• Minimise over-weight and under-weight chickens through effective harvesting and production planning.
• Maintain an updated schedule of flock placement, estimated harvest date, expected weight and quantity.

Farm & Slaughterhouse Coordination

• Act as the main coordination point between the poultry farms and slaughterhouse.
• Match farm production and bird availability with slaughterhouse capacity and production requirements.
• Coordinate daily and weekly bird supply requirements with the relevant teams.
• Ensure the slaughterhouse receives the required quantity of chickens within the targeted weight range.
• Communicate changes in slaughterhouse requirements to the Farm team promptly.
• Coordinate adjustments to harvesting schedules when there are changes in production demand.
• Work closely with Farm, Slaughterhouse, Logistics and Management teams to ensure smooth planning and supply.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor daily and weekly live bird weight and farm performance.
• Analyse weight trends and forecast expected harvest weight.
• Prepare regular reports on:
• Current flock weight
• Estimated harvest weight
• Expected harvest date
• Number of birds available
• Weight distribution
• Farm performance
• Slaughterhouse requirements
• Identify potential supply or weight issues before they affect slaughterhouse operations.
• Provide recommendations to Management regarding harvesting schedules and flock planning.
• Maintain accurate records of farm production and harvesting plans.

Operational Improvement

• Develop and improve systems for monitoring flock growth and harvest planning.
• Improve coordination between farm and slaughterhouse to reduce weight variation and production losses.
• Minimise wastage and improve overall live bird utilisation.
• Monitor actual versus planned bird weight and quantity.
• Identify recurring operational issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, Operations Management, Business Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in poultry farming, poultry production planning or a related poultry operation.
• Experience in coordinating between poultry farms and slaughterhouses is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of broiler growth, live weight, harvesting age and flock performance.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.
• Able to analyse farm weight data and make accurate harvesting forecasts.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple farm batches simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar data management tools.
• Able to work under pressure and meet production schedules.
• Willing to travel between poultry farm and slaughterhouse locations when required.
• Possess a valid driving licence.
