The Senior Risk & Compliance Manager will provide leadership, guidance and oversight across all Singapore Branch risk and compliance matters during a temporary 3-month contract period. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining effective engagement with regulators, and overseeing financial crime prevention frameworks.

Working closely with the Principal Officer, the successful candidate will support sound governance and informed decision-making, while partnering with the wider Asia & Middle East (AME) Risk & Compliance teams to ensure alignment with Group frameworks and a coordinated approach to risk management and compliance across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide risk and compliance oversight across the Singapore Branch to support ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and Group standards.
• Support the maintenance of the Branch's governance, risk, compliance, financial crime, and data protection frameworks and controls.
• Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) during the contract period, supporting the operation and oversight of AML/CFT frameworks and obligations.
• Liaise with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other relevant regulators on routine regulatory matters, submissions, and enquiries as required.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the Branch's activities, providing practical guidance where appropriate.
• Support the completion of regulatory reporting and compliance-related submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide second-line review, challenge, and guidance on business activities, projects, and initiatives to support regulatory compliance and effective risk management.
• Support oversight of outsourcing arrangements and third-party service providers in line with regulatory and Group requirements.
• Assist with compliance reviews, investigations, incidents, complaints, and issue management activities, ensuring appropriate escalation and follow-up where necessary.
• Support the operation of the risk management processes.
• Prepare and contribute to governance and management information reporting for senior management and relevant committees.
• Work collaboratively with the Principal Officer, AME Risk & Compliance teams, and other Group stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to risk and compliance matters.

Job Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in a compliance or related function in the financial industry, preferably in the life insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of Singapore regulatory requirements applicable to life insurers.
• Experience in liaising and engaging with regulators, particularly the MAS.
• Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT requirements.
• Good understanding of outsourcing and third-party oversight requirements.
• Broad understanding of risk management frameworks and processes.
• Understanding of investment and fund structures, including investment-linked products, and related regulatory requirements.
• Ability to assess risk and compliance implications and provide balanced, pragmatic recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound professional judgement.
• Ability to communicate complex risk and compliance matters clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions and jurisdictions.
