Role Description The Assistant Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Penang at The Prestige Hotel. This position supports the Sales Manager in driving room and event sales, managing corporate and travel agent accounts, and developing new business opportunities. Daily activities include preparing proposals and quotations, conducting sales calls and site inspections, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring accurate follow-up on leads and inquiries. The role also involves coordinating with front office, reservations, and events teams to meet revenue targets, preparing sales reports, and contributing to promotional activities and marketing initiatives. The Assistant Sales Manager is expected to uphold brand standards, provide excellent client service, and represent the hotel professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in hotel or hospitality sales, account management, or business development.
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prepare sales proposals, contracts, and basic sales reports with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in spoken and written English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Comfortable with using reservation or CRM systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
- Proactive, target-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in a hotel or tourism-related environment is preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays when required for business needs.
