Your role
The Manager Data Center (MDC) is responsible for leading a team and managing a group of sites to ensure optimal operational performance and infrastructure reliability. The role is executed along the four pillars of the Operations Strategy: Service Excellence, Infrastructure Excellence, Sustainability, and Governance, Risk & Compliance. The MDC is accountable for all site-level activities including maintenance, repairs, upgrades, expansions, and customer service delivery. This includes full responsibility for asset and capacity management, aligned to company standards and compliance requirements. As the single point of contact for all site-related matters, the MDC provides direction and operational oversight, monitors all SLAs and KPIs, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end site operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of all data center infrastructure and assets
- Drive adherence to health & safety policies and foster a strong safety culture with continuous improvement
- Manage SLA/KPI performance, proactively addressing risks and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met
- Oversee maintenance operations (preventive, corrective, and reactive), ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery
- Manage site capacity (power, space, cooling) and support feasibility reviews and expansion planning
- Lead incident, problem, and escalation management to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance, installation acceptance, and audit readiness
- Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, SLDs, BCPs) and site risk registers
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Lead, coach, and develop the site team, including workforce planning, performance management, and engagement
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field
- 3–5+ years of experience managing teams in mission-critical environments (data center, telecom, or industrial power)
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Experience in data center, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure operations
- Understanding of capacity management (power, cooling, space) and asset lifecycle planning
- Familiarity with ITIL, ServiceNow, or similar service management frameworks (preferred)
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities, including coaching and performance management
- Proven ability to execute and deliver results on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex operational environments
- Proactive and adaptable mindset with the ability to manage change effectively
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with a drive to improve service delivery
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams and business units
