We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Associate Director, Account Management - Securities Services.
- In the role you will: Own client retention, sentiment and referenceability across the AO&M client base, working closely with Product Management, Service Delivery, Technology and Client Management teams to deliver consistently high service standards across SSv products and jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain detailed strategic client and account management plans aligned to broader SSv growth priorities, client objectives and Executive Committee (EXCO) planning, including clear actions, ownership, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Act as the client advocate across SSv, coordinating virtual and geographically dispersed teams to ensure a consistent, joined-up client experience and effective execution of the agreed client and HSBC agenda. Lead proactive issue and service management across products and jurisdictions by directing the appropriate resources, ensuring timely resolution, transparent communication and effective escalation of material risks or concerns.
- Identify and sponsor service improvement and transformation opportunities, using client feedback, data, automation, digitisation and new technology to enhance the account management proposition and prioritise change agendas across the business.
- Establish and maintain robust client governance, including agreed service governance frameworks, senior stakeholder meetings, service reviews, management information and reporting, while ensuring adherence to internal controls and governance standards.
- Support strategic growth, new business and cross-selling activity by partnering with Client Executives and Sales on client and prospect initiatives, leveraging HSBC’s broader product suite, SSv capabilities and proprietary network.
- Own commercial outcomes for non CE covered clients, identifying incremental growth opportunities, supporting profitability and contribution to the Annual Operating Planning (AOP) process, and ensuring that commercial and contractual commitments are effectively managed.
To Be Successful You Will Need
- At least eight years’ relevant experience in client management, business implementation and change, business development, securities services or senior operational leadership, preferably within a complex financial services environment.
- Strong client-facing, communication and presentation skills, with proven experience leading senior and executive-level meetings, influencing stakeholders and managing sensitive client discussions.
- A demonstrable track record of managing, developing and retaining client relationships across securities services products, with the ability to contribute to and execute departmental strategy and deliver measurable client outcomes.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including experience managing client economics, profitability, contribution to AOP or strategic planning, business performance and growth opportunities.
- Proven ability to operate collaboratively across a complex, global organisation, balancing the requirements of clients, internal stakeholders, risk and control functions, and multiple products and jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of the securities services industry, regulatory requirements, risk management and internal controls, including product and market risk, client management obligations and appropriate mitigation techniques. Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and team-working skills are also essential.
