Job Summary

Responsible for managing and overseeing overall construction activities from planning through completion. The Construction Manager ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee daily construction activities to ensure smooth project execution.
• Lead and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
• Ensure construction works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Monitor project progress and ensure construction activities meet the approved schedule and milestones.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Review construction plans, work sequences, manpower requirements, materials, and equipment needs.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed according to contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
• Identify and resolve site issues, technical problems, delays, and construction conflicts.
• Monitor site productivity, manpower, materials, equipment, and overall resource utilization.
• Attend site meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, and client meetings as required.
• Review and monitor method statements, ITPs, RFIs, shop drawings, material submissions, and site instructions.
• Monitor variations, additional works, and construction changes in coordination with the Project and QS teams.
• Ensure proper documentation of daily progress, site records, inspection records, and project reports.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, punch list clearance, commissioning support, and project handover activities.
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable legal, statutory, client, and company requirements.
• Provide regular updates to management on project progress, manpower, resources, risks, and construction issues.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant construction experience, with proven experience in a managerial / supervisory position.
• Experience in civil, structural, architectural, industrial, or oil & gas projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, site management, project coordination, and construction planning.
• Good understanding of QA/QC, HSE, project scheduling, contract requirements, and cost control.
• Able to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Primavera P6 / MS Project is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of relevant Malaysian construction standards, regulations, and site practices.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
