Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day finance operations, with a primary focus on bank reconciliations, daily settlement activities, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The ideal candidate should possess sound accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to resolving financial discrepancies and improving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the full set of accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and ensure all reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Monitor and reconcile daily sales settlements across various payment channels, including e-wallets, payment gateways, and bank transfers.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements, settlement reports, and internal accounting records.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of daily transaction postings and ensure accounting entries comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, ensuring supporting schedules are complete and accurate.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Liaise with internal departments, banks, and external service providers to resolve settlement, reconciliation, and accounting-related issues.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation and filing in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and other required supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory requirements, while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties and ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Assistant Finance Manager or Finance Controller.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or Finance; ACCA or professionally qualified candidates preferred.
- Candidates with accounting experience in an accounting firm or corporate taxation, preferably with 4–5 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bank reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
There will be a 30-minute technical test if the candidate is shortlisted.
