We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices running on cloud infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and Alibaba Cloud, together with experience in containerization, DevOps practices and relational/non-relational databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise backend applications using Java 8/11/17.
• Develop scalable and maintainable services using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Spring MVC.
• Implement data-access solutions using Spring Data JPA, Hibernate/JPA and relational databases.
• Apply appropriate software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
• Develop concurrent and multithreaded applications and optimize application performance.
• Perform JVM performance analysis and tuning where required.
• Design and develop microservices-based architectures.
• Implement service discovery, API gateway and circuit-breaker patterns.
• Support distributed transaction and messaging requirements.
• Develop and integrate messaging solutions using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Implement application security using Spring Security and appropriate authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Design, deploy and support backend workloads on Alibaba Cloud.
• Work with Alibaba Cloud services including ECS, ACK, OSS, RDS, SLB, Cloud Monitor, Function Compute, RAM, Container Registry and VPC.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar tools.
• Use Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain source code using Git.
• Use code-quality and security tools such as SonarQube.
• Work with MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure and production issues.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects and other technical stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of development and engineering practices.

Key Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8, 11 or 17.
• Strong understanding of:Java Collections FrameworkMultithreading and concurrencyException handlingJVM performance tuningObject-oriented programmingDesign patterns
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security and Spring Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience developing and operating microservices architectures.
• Understanding of service discovery, API gateways and circuit-breaker patterns.
• Experience with distributed systems and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Git and Maven/Gradle.
• Experience with database technologies including MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
