Role Description The Lead Software Engineer at SAVERBRO is a full-time, on-site role based in Kota Kinabalu. This position is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of back-end and core software systems, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Day-to-day tasks include writing and reviewing code, defining technical architecture, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with product and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust solutions. The Lead Software Engineer will guide best practices in software development, drive improvements in development workflows, and help troubleshoot complex technical issues in production and test environments.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with a track record of shipping production-ready applications.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), using at least one modern language and related frameworks.
- Experience leading engineering projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with product and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of software architecture, APIs, databases, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with security, performance optimization, and scalable system design in web or distributed environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Kota Kinabalu and communicate clearly in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
