Job Summary
Assist chefs with food preparation and kitchen operations by washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting daily kitchen activities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and food items accurately according to instructions to support chefs.
Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients to ensure timely food preparation.
Receive, check, and store food supplies properly to maintain inventory accuracy.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils to meet food safety standards.
Ensure proper storage and labelling of ingredients to prevent contamination and spoilage.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures consistently during all kitchen tasks.
Wash kitchen utensils and equipment as needed to support kitchen operations.
Support daily kitchen opening and closing activities to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to assist smooth kitchen workflow.
Required competencies and certifications
Able to perform physical duties such as standing for extended periods and handling kitchen supplies.
Willing to learn and able to follow instructions.
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Good teamwork and positive working attitude.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
No prior kitchen experience required; training will be provided.
