Job Objectives/Job Summary:

A construction WSH Coordinator completes a project in a given time frame. He oversees all aspects of the construction project related to workplace safety and health from beginning to finish or supervise only a portion of the building process, as instructed by the project engineers.

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Oversee and maintain on safety practices for the entire project.

- Adhere on Code of Practices and WSH legislation requirement such as Permit to Work on daily routine work, maintaining on administrative documentation, assist on incident/accident investigation report and perform site safety inspection on entire project.

- Conduct training on Permit to Work and conduct in-house safety induction training to workers before commencement of work.

- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of WSH management systems for recognition, assessment, control and management of WHS risks.

- Identify any unsafe condition in the workplace; recommend and implement measures to remedy the unsafe conditions.

- Conduct weekly WSH inspection.

- To ensure WSH supervisor perform daily WSH inspection.

- Assigns jobs, to lead the WSH supervisor and trains new WSH supervisor when necessary.

- To ensure safety regulations are enforced.

- Ensures a smooth work flow by balancing equipment/operations to meet engineering targets.

- To assist in daily operation, technical support at job site.

- To ensure compliance with safety and fire protection laws and regulations within the company.

- To identify risk-related threats and to enhance the security measures and control of the development.

- To conduct emergency drills and prepare fire evacuation plans at the job site.

- To conduct training related to the Workplace Security & Safety and Emergency procedures.

- To maintain communication with the supervisor regarding WSH issues.

- Evaluate quickest and easiest way to a job without sacrificing quality of work being done.

- Conduct weekly mass toolbox meeting and record it in the log for future reference.

- Ad hoc assignments.

- Assist in consass audit/ internal audit and external audit preparation.

- To disseminate safety violation notice in accordance to in-house rule.

Job Specifications/Requirements:

a) Qualifications

- Possess WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or higher.

- Good proficiency in spoken and written English.

- Able to draft email and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

b) Experience

- At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in construction industry.

c) Skills & Knowledge

- Must be qualified and competent and possess the relevant skills, knowledge and the ability to supervise and coordinate the works at site.

d) Personal Qualities

- Initiative, independent with a strong sense of commitment & urgency.

- Dynamic, good team player and ability to work well with people.

- Carry out assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $1,200.00 - $2,000.00 per month
