Our client is a global data centre and manufacturing organisation with a significant presence across the APAC region. They are undergoing a major transformation programme to strengthen their competitive position, and they're looking for a seasoned Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy and operations that will enable this growth.

This is a pivotal role with direct exposure to senior leadership, group headquarters, and key business stakeholders.

The right leader will shape how the finance function supports an ambitious business agenda-from strategic planning through to project delivery and operational excellence.

The Role

You will lead all aspects of finance and accounting operations, acting as the trusted financial advisor to the business. Reporting to senior leadership, you'll own the financial strategy, compliance, and team leadership for a defined region or business unit-bridging global policy with local execution, and translating complex financial requirements into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Business Steering

• Develop short and long-term financial objectives, roadmaps, and targets aligned to the Annual Business Plan
• Provide independent financial perspective on strategic initiatives, expansion opportunities, and new business cases
• Conduct risk assessments and build mitigation plans to protect financial integrity and business continuity
• Partner with business leaders to ensure financial discipline and achieve agreed-upon targets

2. Finance Operations & Reporting

• Lead all finance and accounting operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in financial reporting
• Oversee forecasting, planning, and stakeholder reporting on agreed timelines
• Maintain strong internal controls and remediate any weaknesses that could lead to revenue leakage, asset misuse, or resource wastage
• Ensure audit readiness and support clean audit outcomes

3. Taxation, Treasury & Working Capital

• Own all tax compliance activities-direct and indirect taxes, withholding, assessments, appeals-ensuring strict adherence to IFRS and local GAAP
• Manage cash flow, working capital, credit management, and forex matters with discipline
• Liaise with tax advisors and group headquarters to ensure smooth operations and tax efficiency

4. Project Finance & Financial Controlling

• Manage financial aspects of projects; support project teams in achieving optimal financial outcomes
• Build and maintain project accounting and controlling frameworks

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing finance team
• Build financial competence across the team; train on latest accounting standards and audit requirements
• Ensure team compliance with group and local policies, driving a culture of integrity and continuous improvement
• Be a change-agent for key priorities (digital transformation, process optimisation, cost management)

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 8–12+ years of finance leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, or complex multi-site environments
• Proven expertise in consolidated accounting, IFRS, multi-jurisdictional reporting, and tax compliance
• Strong track record managing finance teams and building capability
• Deep knowledge of treasury, working capital management, and internal controls
• Comfortable with ambiguity and driving change in a transforming organisation
• Excellent stakeholder management-able to influence at senior levels and translate financial complexity into business language
• A preference for candidates with experience in regional finance roles with exposure to group dynamics
