The Assistant Manager, HR Data & Analytics is responsible for turning HR data into meaningful insights that support workforce planning, cost management and business decisions. The role leads HR reporting and dashboard automation, manpower and labour cost forecasting, HRMS improvements, and data governance, while working closely with HR, Finance and external vendors to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
The location of this role is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Duties include but will not be limited to the following:
Dashboards & Reporting
- Develop and maintain interactive HR dashboards and management reports covering key people metrics.
- Automate data collection and consolidation from HR trackers into standardized dashboards, reducing manual reporting.
- Establish simple data standards and validation processes to improve data quality and consistency.
- Provide monthly workforce and manpower insights to support management decisions.
- Maintain a central reference of multi-country benefits and statutory requirements to support workforce planning and staff cost forecasting.
Manpower Forecasting & Budgeting
- Develop robust headcount and labour cost forecasting models aligned with organisational growth plans.
- Monitor actual manpower costs against budget and highlight key variances and trends.
- Collaborate with other HR functions and Finance to understand cost movements and recommend actions.
HR Management Systems (HRMS)
- Support HRMS upgrades, enhancements, UAT and system improvements.
- Investigate system issues, data discrepancies and integration errors, working with vendors to resolve them.
- Collaborate with other HR functions to identify opportunities to improve and automate HR processes and reporting.
- Develop user guides, SOPs and data governance practices to support effective system usage.
Market Research & Benchmarking
- Partner closely with the HR Operations & Rewards team to conduct market research and benchmarking studies on salary benchmarks, market movements, and increment trends across various jurisdictions.
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
- Work closely with HR, Finance and other stakeholders to gather, validate and interpret data.
- Manage HRMS vendors on system support, enhancements, issue resolution and service levels.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Education
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience
- 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in HR analytics, HRMS, workforce planning, HR reporting or related HR services.
Technical and Professional Knowledge
- Experience developing HR dashboards, management reports and workforce analytics.
- Expertise in financial modeling, headcount forecasting, and actual vs. budget variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience in HRMS implementation, UAT, system enhancement, troubleshooting and data management.
- Advanced Excel, with knowledge of Power Query, Power BI or similar tools
- Sound understanding of HR frameworks, multi-country benefits and statutory requirements
