The Role

As a Production Specialist, you will function as an end-to-end storyteller—conceptualising ideas, chasing leads, and developing compelling narratives—while applying your technical expertise in camera work, lighting, and audio to capture footage and bring the final cut to life.

Working as part of our evolving, integrated newsroom, you will take creative ownership of camera work across diverse story formats—from capturing fast-moving footage for breaking news and chasing follow-up stories to executing high-quality visual setups for original video productions and pitching your own original ideas. Rather than being confined to a single format, you will bring your creative vision and technical expertise to every stage of coverage, providing rich context and fresh perspectives through visually compelling explainers, human-interest profiles, and multimedia content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the Story: Be proactive in chasing leads, pitching original ideas, and developing compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
• Crew Main Productions: Take part in main content production shoots as a vital member of the crew (managing cameras, lighting, and/or audio).
• Drive Post-Production: Take charge of the editing process when required, turning raw footage into high-quality, polished videos fit for digital and social media.
• Solve Problems: Be proactive in solving operational, technical, and creative problems with resourcefulness and agility.

Job Requirements

If you’re a multi-hyphenate creator who gets excited about chasing a good story, capturing it beautifully, and piecing it together in the edit suite, we welcome you to join us!

We are looking for a visual storyteller who has a sharp sense of aesthetics and journalistic curiosity, coupled with the practical hands-on skills to execute a video project from pitch to publication.

You should apply if you possess:

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on skills in operating cameras.
• Are proficient in production lighting and audio setup (such as mic-ing up talents).
• Are proficient in post-production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro to execute engaging video edits.
• A knack for finding interesting stories and the drive to chase down leads.
• A strong news sense and an ability to write, produce or script a news-related story in various media formats.
• Are familiar with the end-to-end video production workflow.
• Are a flexible team player, ready to support editorial initiatives when the opportunity arises.
• Are reliable, disciplined, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
