About the role
As the Sales Manager at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre, you will be responsible for driving the hotel's sales performance and developing strong business relationships with clients and partners. You will support the hotel in achieving revenue targets through effective sales activities, account management, and business development. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve the hotel's business and revenue targets
- Identify new business opportunities and actively generate leads from corporate, government, leisure, and other market segments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
- Manage assigned corporate accounts and ensure regular follow-up to strengthen business relationships
- Conduct sales calls, client visits, site inspections, presentations, and business appointments
- Promote the hotel's rooms, meeting facilities, restaurants, banquets, and other services to potential clients
- Work closely with the Events, Reservations, Front Office, F&B, and other departments to ensure smooth handling of client requirements
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities within the local market
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, account plans, and other sales-related reports as required
- Follow up on enquiries, proposals, contracts, and business opportunities to maximise conversion
- Participate in sales activities, hotel promotions, roadshows, networking events, and industry functions
- Ensure excellent customer service and handle client feedback or concerns professionally
- Support the Sales team in achieving monthly and annual revenue targets
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry
- Experience in corporate sales, MICE, events, or hotel sales will be an added advantage
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of the local market and ability to develop new business opportunities
- Strong sales and business development skills with a target-driven mindset
- Able to build and maintain good relationships with clients and business partners
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Able to work independently as well as within a team
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages will be an advantage
- Willing to travel for client meetings, sales calls, and business development activities when required
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field will be an added advantage
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
