Position: Repair & Maintenance Technician

1. Job Resposibilities

To ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and factory facilities by carrying out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and continuous improvement activities.

The Technician is responsible for responding promptly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing production downtime, and maintaining equipment in good working condition to support production targets and product quality.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Machine & Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control-system problems.
• Attend to machine breakdowns and restore equipment to operation as quickly and safely as possible.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain and service equipment used in lighting manufacturing, including assembly, testing, wiring, soldering, cutting, drilling, pressing, and other production equipment.
• Check and maintain motors, pumps, sensors, switches, electrical panels, conveyors, compressors, and other related equipment.
• Assist in machine installation, relocation, modification, and commissioning.

B. Electrical & Control Systems

• Diagnose basic electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments.
• Perform maintenance on electrical wiring, control panels, switches, relays, sensors, motors, and other electrical components.
• Assist with PLC, inverter/VFD, timer, controller, and automation-related troubleshooting where applicable.
• Ensure electrical work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Identify potential electrical hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately.

C. Preventive Maintenance

• Follow the preventive maintenance plan and complete scheduled maintenance activities on time.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures before breakdown occurs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including breakdown reports, repair activities, spare parts used, and equipment history.
• Recommend replacement of worn or aging components to prevent repeated breakdowns.
• Monitor recurring equipment problems and propose corrective actions.

D. Production Support

• Respond quickly to production line breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
• Minimize production interruptions while ensuring repairs are performed safely and correctly.
• Assist production teams with machine setup, adjustment, and changeover when required.
• Support improvement projects to increase machine reliability, productivity, and safety.

E. Lighting Product & Testing Equipment

• Maintain equipment used for lighting product assembly and testing.
• Troubleshoot equipment related to LED lighting, drivers, power supplies, wiring, testing stations, and electrical components.
• Ensure testing equipment and production fixtures are functioning properly.
• Assist in maintaining electrical safety and functional testing equipment used during production.

F. Spare Parts & Tools

• Maintain proper control and availability of maintenance tools, spare parts, and consumable materials.
• Identify required spare parts for repairs and communicate requirements to the supervisor.
• Keep maintenance tools and work areas clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Monitor frequently used spare parts and recommend appropriate minimum stock levels.

G. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety rules, maintenance procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Apply proper isolation/lockout procedures before carrying out maintenance work.
• Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment.
• Report unsafe equipment, hazards, accidents, and near-miss incidents promptly.
• Ensure machines are safely restored and tested before handing them back to Production.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
