Our client is a leading professional services firm providing audit, assurance, tax, and advisory services to public-listed companies, multinational corporations, and private enterprises across Southeast Asia. The firm's insurance audit practice is expanding and offers professionals the opportunity to lead complex, regulated engagements while building a long-term career within a dynamic, growth-focused, and regionally integrated environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a portfolio of external audit engagements for insurance clients (life and/or takaful), regulated under Bank Negara Malaysia, from planning through to completion.
• Apply strong technical knowledge of IFRS 17 across audit planning, execution, and review.
• Review audit working papers, financial statements, and disclosures for technical accuracy and compliance with MFRS/IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, boards, and audit committees within the insurance sector.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and liaise with partners on audit findings and risk areas.
• Lead, coach, and develop the insurance audit team, including training fresh graduates through to assistant manager level.
• Support business development and help grow the firm's insurance audit client base.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting/Finance with ACCA, CPA, CA, MICPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 8-12 years of external audit experience, manager level and above.
• Extensive experience auditing direct life insurance companies is essential; candidates with non-life or reinsurance experience are also welcome to apply.
• Prior exposure to takaful audits is an added advantage.
• Experience gained within a Big Four audit firm is required, with insurance engagements audited under Bank Negara Malaysia.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS 17, MFRS/IFRS, and local auditing standards.
• Strong leadership, team development, and stakeholder management skills.
