Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all safety and health activities at the data centre construction site.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and potential hazards.
• Ensure all workers, subcontractors and site activities comply with OSHA 1994, applicable DOSH/JKKP requirements and project/client safety standards.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, site inductions and safety awareness programmes.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and ensure safety equipment and signage are available and maintained.
• Review and monitor risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
• Monitor high-risk activities including working at height, lifting operations, electrical works, hot works, excavation and confined-space activities.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, consultants and client safety representatives on all safety-related matters.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain proper safety records, inspection reports, toolbox meeting records, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Stop or report unsafe work where necessary and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Liaise with DOSH/JKKP and other relevant authorities when required.
• Perform any other safety-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Competency Registration / Yellow Book registered with DOSH/JKKP.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant construction site safety experience; experience in data centre, industrial, M&E or large-scale construction projects will be an advantage.
• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related field is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety & Health legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience in preparing safety documentation, risk assessments, method statements and inspection reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, management and clients.
• Able to work independently and take proactive action on site safety matters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety documentation.
• Able to work at a fast-paced construction environment and meet project requirements.
• Willing to work on site and according to project working hours.
• Data centre construction experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• CIDB-related construction safety qualifications.
• First Aid / CPR certification.
• Working at Height certification.
• Confined Space certification.
• Experience with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
• Experience handling client safety audits and inspections.
• Experience working with major data centre clients, main contractors or international project standards.
