SAP GTS Senior Consultant – Business AMS Services | Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP GTS Senior Consultant to support a manufacturing-focused SAP Business Application Managed Services (AMS) environment.

The role will provide senior functional capability across SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), trade compliance and integration with core SAP business processes, while supporting business requirements, production operations, enhancements and continuous improvement.

The position is intended to provide dedicated SAP GTS capacity within the business application services organisation and will operate across AMS support, enhancement delivery, business requirements and future project development.

Project / Business Context

The manufacturing business is developing dedicated SAP application service capacity to support the ongoing operation and development of its SAP landscape.

SAP GTS is a key business capability supporting areas such as:

Scope of Work

1. SAP GTS AMS / Production Support

Provide senior-level SAP GTS functional support for the manufacturing business application environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide L2/L3 SAP GTS functional support.
• Analyse and resolve production incidents.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring business and system issues.
• Investigate SAP GTS process failures and integration issues.
• Monitor and manage application service requests.
• Support business-critical trade compliance processes.
• Coordinate with technical teams for defects requiring development or configuration changes.
• Maintain incident, problem and resolution documentation.
• Support production stability and service continuity.

2. SAP GTS Functional Processes

Provide functional expertise across relevant SAP GTS capabilities, including:

• Compliance Management
• Sanctioned / Restricted Party Screening
• Legal Control
• Embargo / trade restriction processes
• Customs Management, where applicable
• Import / export compliance
• Trade documentation
• Product classification
• Business partner compliance
• Trade-related master data
• Integration with sales, procurement and logistics processes

The consultant should be capable of analysing business scenarios and translating trade compliance requirements into appropriate SAP GTS solutions.

3. SAP SD / MM / Business Process Integration

Support integration between SAP GTS and core manufacturing business processes, including:

• SAP SD / Order-to-Cash
• SAP MM / Procure-to-Pay
• Material master
• Business partner / customer / vendor data
• Sales orders and deliveries
• Purchasing and procurement transactions
• Goods movements
• Billing and logistics processes
• Relevant S/4HANA business processes

Work with SD, MM, Logistics and other functional consultants to identify cross-functional impacts and resolve integration dependencies.

4. Business Requirements & Solutioning

Engage with business stakeholders to understand current and future trade compliance requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct business requirement discussions.
• Analyse existing processes and identify gaps.
• Translate business requirements into SAP GTS functional solutions.
• Assess business impact of regulatory and process changes.
• Prepare functional solution documentation.
• Define configuration or enhancement requirements.
• Support estimation and prioritisation of enhancement requests.
• Provide recommendations to improve business processes and application performance.

5. Enhancement & Change Request Delivery

The role is expected to contribute beyond BAU support and participate in the SAP GTS enhancement pipeline.

Responsibilities include:

• Assess enhancement / change requests.
• Define functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare Functional Specifications where required.
• Coordinate with ABAP / technical teams.
• Review technical solutions from a functional perspective.
• Support development and defect resolution.
• Perform functional validation.
• Coordinate SIT and UAT.
• Support deployment and post-production validation.
• Provide post-go-live stabilisation.

6. AMS Service Management

Work within the broader Business Application Services / AMS operating model.

Responsibilities include:

Manufacturing Business Context

Experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, electronics, consumer products, chemicals or other global supply-chain environments is advantageous.

The consultant should understand how trade compliance interacts with:
