Department: Nuclear Medicine

Beacon Hospital is expanding its Nuclear Medicine team and is seeking motivated and suitably qualified pharmacy professionals for two exciting opportunities within our radiopharmaceutical manufacturing operations:

1. Production Pharmacist
2. Production Manager

These roles offer an opportunity to work in a specialised environment combining pharmacy, radiochemistry, radiopharmaceutical production, GMP and radiation safety, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.

1. Production Pharmacist – Nuclear MedicineKey Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Perform GMP and non-GMP radiopharmaceutical production, with a focus on product quality, yield and consistency.
  • Review radiopharmaceutical prescriptions and assess their suitability for the intended clinical application.
  • Calculate radioactive activity and volume, taking into consideration radioactive decay and prescribed administration times.
  • Compound and prepare radiopharmaceuticals using appropriate pharmacy and radiochemistry procedures.
  • Perform radioactivity measurements and quality checks using dose calibrators and other relevant equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records for the receipt, storage, preparation and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Ensure production activities are carried out according to approved procedures, documentation and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products.
  • Maintain and review production and product-related documentation and provide daily production reports.
  • Support equipment qualification, process validation and continual improvement activities in collaboration with QA and Engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, radiation protection, workplace safety and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to training and development of the Production team.
  • Support radiopharmaceutical development, regulatory submissions and other production-related activities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Experience in radiopharmacy or radiopharmaceutical production will be an added advantage.
  • Clinical experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge or experience in aseptic technique, GMP and radiation handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and good documentation practices.
  • Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

2. Production Manager – Nuclear MedicineKey Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and manufacturing activities to achieve quality, productivity, yield, cost and delivery targets.
  • Lead manufacturing operations involving radiopharmaceutical production, cyclotron and cleanroom activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in batch yield, product quality and manufacturing processes for GMP and non-GMP radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure production activities, records and documentation comply with applicable GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, qualification and validation activities.
  • Work closely with QA, QC, Engineering and other departments to resolve quality issues and drive continual improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, inventory control and production records are maintained.
  • Identify training needs and develop the capabilities of the Production team.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, compliance, safety and operational excellence.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide effective cross-functional leadership.
  • Support new product development and clinical trial activities where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • 3–4 years of pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical production, manufacturing or GMP operations will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with batch record review and pharmaceutical documentation.
  • Strong crisis management, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated cross-departmental leadership and communication skills.
  • Clinical experience will be an added advantage.
