KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Business Growth Strategy
- Develop the business development strategy and growth roadmap to achieve sustainable business expansion and long-term commercial objectives.
- Drive strategic growth initiatives across priority industries, market segments, and emerging sectors to strengthen CDCi's growth pipeline.
- Evaluate market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify strategic growth opportunities and future market demands.
- Align business development initiatives with corporate growth priorities to maximise long-term business value and competitive advantage.
B. Market Expansion & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify new markets, industry verticals, and strategic business opportunities to diversify CDCi's commercial portfolio.
- Establish strategic partnerships with government agencies, GLCs, enterprise organisations, technology providers, and industry stakeholders to expand market access and business opportunities.
- Develop strategic alliance programmes with technology partners, channel partners, and system integrators to strengthen CDCi's business ecosystem and market competitiveness.
- Represent CDCi in strategic engagements, industry forums, and professional networks to enhance corporate visibility, credibility, and strategic influence.
C. Commercialisation & Go-to-Market
- Develop commercialisation strategies for new products, services, and digital solutions to accelerate market adoption and business growth.
- Lead go-to-market strategies for new offerings and strategic initiatives to maximise market penetration and commercial success.
- Evaluate customer business challenges and market requirements to identify commercially viable solution opportunities and competitive differentiation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Technology, and Delivery teams to develop integrated solutions that support market growth and customer value.
D. Strategic Opportunity Management
- Lead strategic bids, proposals, and partnership initiatives to secure high-value business opportunities and strategic collaborations.
- Oversee the strategic opportunity portfolio and growth pipeline to improve opportunity prioritisation and investment decisions.
- Monitor market intelligence, competitor activities, and partnership performance to optimise business growth strategies and minimise commercial risks.
- Recommend strategic growth initiatives and portfolio optimisation opportunities to maximise sustainable commercial value.
E. Corporate Development & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to commercialise emerging technologies and digital innovations to diversify revenue streams and strengthen market competitiveness.
- Champion commercial innovation initiatives and strategic growth programmes to enhance CDCi's competitive positioning.
- Contribute to corporate strategy, business transformation, mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnership initiatives to support long-term organisational growth.
F. Leadership & Organisational Capability
- Lead the Business Development Department to cultivate a high-performing, innovative, and commercially focused organisation.
- Develop business development capabilities through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management to strengthen organisational capability and leadership readiness.
- Align departmental objectives, KPIs, and team performance to achieve strategic business priorities and organisational goals.
- Foster collaboration across business functions to strengthen strategic planning, commercial execution, and innovation.
G. Governance & Business Excellence
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, commercial policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements to minimise commercial risk and protect organisational interests.
- Promote ethical business practices and effective governance to strengthen stakeholder confidence and corporate reputation.
- Support continuous improvement of business development frameworks, methodologies, and governance practices to enhance organisational effectiveness and sustainable growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial management, or corporate strategy, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience within technology, digital solutions, ICT, SaaS, e-Procurement, ERP, cloud services, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success in driving market expansion, strategic partnerships, and commercial growth.
- Experience working with Government agencies, GLCs, enterprise organisations, and technology ecosystem partners.
- Experience leading strategic bids, go-to-market initiatives, and digital transformation programmes is highly desirable.
